Description
Developed by the USDA breeding program in Washington State, Chinook was released in 1985 as a high alpha, bittering variety. In recent years, it has found favor as a dual purpose variety in the craft brewing community as a result of is spicy and and pine aroma characteristics. Chinook is tolerant to downy mildew with pickability of a large cone.
Known for distinct, medium intensity spice and pine characteristics with subtle notes of grapefruit.
